Problem paying with PayPal

cinders Hello. The site says you don't have to create a PayPal account if you don't have one. This was true before, I purchased some lectures and it was all well. Now that I feel I want to commit and pay 148€ for a year membership I cannot pay without making a account. I made an account several years back with my credit card, however, I've lost the mail and secret questions and so on, so I cannot use it. And I cannot register a new account with the same credit card.

Am I doing something wrong?

Darrell Malick Hello. Sorry for the trouble. I'm sure you'll love the new Training System! :) Anyway, I just checked Paypal. Of course Paypal *wants* you to make an account, so they make it a bit confusing. But you don't have to have an account at all. Just click the link that says "Don't have a Paypal Account." This will take you to a page where you can "Pay with a debit or credit card." No account required. Good luck! Post again if you have any trouble. Or email me at feedback@internetgoschool.com

cinders I might be really tired but I don't see a link that says that. I know there used to be a link that said "Pay without logging in" or something like that, that is how I did it before, but it is gone. Tried different browsers too. http://imgur.com/3uR0reg

waynec Whether you can pay with paypal without having a paypal account seems to vary from country to country. Not only that, but it is not consistent over time. A few years ago, you could do so where I live, now you can't. There used to be a way for a Paypal vendor to send an email "invoice" to someone, which will contain a link which, in the past, allowed you to pay without a paypal account. I'm not sure whether that would still work, but it might be worth a try. You might ask Darrell or Guo Juan to try sending such an invoice. And since paypal probably has only an old expiry date for your credit card, it might be possible to ask their "customer service" people to remove the old account.

Darrell Malick Hi again. Ok, your PayPal looks slightly different than mine. Perhaps because you're in Sweden? So it's hard for me to debug PayPal's idiosyncrasies. Did you try the link that says "Create a PayPal account - and pay with your debit or credit card"? My guess is that those are separate choices and you can pay with your credit card without creating an account. That's how my version works at least. If that doesn't work, you can pay Guo Juan directly to her bank account: ING Bank Amsterdam

cinders @waynec Yeah I know but it worked for me on this site recently. I have also made a payment without account through PayPal to another side just yesterday, so it shouldn't be geolocked or something like that. @darrel Yeah that link only gives me the option to make an account, sorry. My bank takes a fee for international bank transfers so I guess I'll just wait and see if PayPal starts working like before later.

cinders Great news, seems to work fine with Internet Explorer (who would've thought?) Chrome and Firefox was a no-go though.

cinders Never mind, spoke too soon. As soon as I switched country to Sweden it demanded to make an account. I guess Sweden is blocked from paying without account to this site then.
