|rufusjay||The training system is great! Thanks for setting it up - I find the problems a huge help to remember the lecture content.
Will you be adding problems to any of the existing lectures in future? If so, do you know which ones are likely to be added soonest? Sorry to ask for more, but I would really love to see problems for some of the basic course lectures as well as beginning joseki
|Darrell Malick||Hello, Thank you for the great feedback! I'm helping Guo Juan with the Training System. Yes, we are working hard at making problems for existing lectures. Do you mind if I ask - what is your level in Go? And are there any particular lectures in the Basic Course that you would be *most* interested in getting problems for?
|waynec||The study guide page points a new student to the "Step by step course" as the first thing to look at - even before the "Basic course". I am around 9 kyu, but I have started going through even the first few step by step lectures, in order to see how Guo Juan and the other teachers cover the basics. Therefore, I would suggest problems for the step by step lectures.
I have found that the training system has prodded me into starting to do some regular study, and started getting me listening to the lectures.
|rufusjay||I'm coming back to go after a long break - i got to about 10k before, but as I've forgotten a lot, I wanted to review the fundamentals again. The basic course is great for this because of the detailed focus on each subject; by the time I've listened to three lectures on a topic, I feel that some of it has really sunk in. But problems would be great to help reinforce that, especially the way they keep coming back day after day. I hope to work through the whole course, so problems for any of the lectures would be great, but I'm listening to the bit about approaching corners at the moment, so I guess that's what I'd be most interested in right now.|
|Darrell Malick||Great! We are making problems steadily. But it will take time. GJ has published over 1000 lectures now! We appreciate your feedback here and will certainly try to get you what you want, but you might have to be a little patient on specific requests. I'm confident, however, that you will find plenty of value in what we have done and are doing with the problem sets. My personal favorites are the Joseki for Beginners set. Every lecture and set seems to have something new in it for me.|
|Terri Schurter||I have a request for problems for the regular Chinese opening lecture because I forget the details and want the drill. I love the Training System. I tried it out with the samples and I liked it so much I renewed my year subscription to lectures and picked up the training system too. I find that the problems really make me want to listen to new lectures. I am currently focusing on the Joseki for Beginner lectures because they have problems, but I also would like to see the Step by Step lectures with problems. I see that Guo Juan is redoing these. Great work on the system. Thank you to all involved in making this happen. It makes me really want to study again.
